Thử Nghiệm Trong Lửa Hừng-

1 Phi-e-rơ 4:12-14 “Hỡi kẻ yêu dấu, về cơn lửa thử thách đến giữa anh em để thử nghiệm anh em, thì chớ lấy làm lạ như một việc khác thường xảy đến cho anh em đó;  trái lại, anh em có phần trong sự khổ sở của Đấng Christ bao nhiêu, thì hãy vui mừng bấy nhiêu, hầu cho đến khi vinh hiển Ngài hiển lộ, thì anh em cũng được vui mừng nhảy nhót.  Ví bằng anh em vì cớ danh Christ mà chịu lăng nhục, thì có phước, vì Linh vinh hiển của Đức Chúa Trời hằng ngự trên anh em”.

Đức Chúa Trời đang dấy lên, tạo ra một dân sẵn sàng cho Linh của Đức Chúa Trời và Linh vinh quang ngự trị, trên đó. Đây là một dân đã học tập cách vui mừng vì họ cũng được kể là xứng đáng làm những người tham gia vào những cơn đau khổ của Đấng Christ. Và mục đích của tất cả là gì? Đức Chúa Trời có thể được tôn vinh trên trái đất. Bạn có muốn Linh vinh quang ngự trên bạn không? Bạn có muốn sẵn sàng không? Sau đó từ chối tất cả các tôn giáo tự phục vụ. Từ chối mọi tiếng nói cho bạn biết rằng không cần phải sẵn sàng, không cần phải hạ mình, không cần phải ăn năn và xin tha thứ.

CHÚA ĐÃ CHẠM VÀO-

Mathio  8: 3 “Và Chúa Giêsu đưa tay ra và chạm vào Người”

Tôi đã nhận ra rằng tôi nhớ cái được gọi là “chạm” biết dường nào. Nắm tay ai đó. Đặt một cánh tay quanh vai người nào đó. Ôm một người bạn, một cháu trai, một em bé. Chạm. Bạn biết đấy, tôi sẽ không tồn tại trong một thế giới mà không chạm vào ai đó. Cuộc đời tôi được sinh ra bởi một cú chạm, Chúa Giêsu đã chạm vào tôi. Ngài đã chạm vào trái tim tôi. Ngài chạm vào tâm hồn tôi. Ngài đã chạm vào mọi phần của con người tôi và Ngài đã biến đổi tôi. Chỉ cần một cú chạm từ bàn tay của Thầy. Kết quả cuối cùng do câu Kinh thánh trên nói về người đàn ông, người mắc bệnh phong, đã được chữa lành. Có sự chữa lành trong sự đụng chạm của Chúa. Có sự chữa lành trong việc đặt tay.

CHÂM RỄ VÀ LẬP NỀN-

”Hầu cho Đấng Christ nhơn đức tin mà ngự trong lòng anh em, cốt để sau khi anh em đã châm rễ lập nền trong sự thương yêu,  thì có thể cùng hết cả các thánh đồ hiểu thấu bề rộng, bề dài, bề cao, bề sâu của sự ấy là thể nào,  và được biết sự thương yêu của Đấng Christ vốn vượt qua sự hiểu biết, hầu cho anh em được đầy dẫy mọi sự đầy đủ của Đức Chúa Trời” (Ê-phê 3: 17-19)

Có 250.000 dặm về phía mặt trăng và 93 triệu dặm về phía mặt trời. Đó chỉ là dưới 6 nghìn tỉ dặm trong một năm ánh sáng. Rõ ràng ngôi sao gần nhất trong hệ mặt trời của chúng ta là Proxima Centuri với chỉ cách xa ta hơn 4 năm ánh sáng, điều này sẽ làm cho nó cách xa  chúng ta 24 nghìn tỷ dặm. Thiên hà xa nhất được biết đến từ trái đất đây là 14 tỷ năm ánh sáng cách xa chúng ta, đó là 14 tỷ lần 6 nghìn tỷ. Con số đó làm tâm trí chúng ta lùng bùng Bất chấp sự bao la của quy mô đó, không hành tinh nào trong số đó chứa được Đức Chúa Trời-, Ngài chứa đựng tất cả những điều đó và giữ nó trong lòng bàn tay Ngài. Và điều đáng kinh ngạc là Đức Chúa Trời- bao la này đã làm cho chúng ta được biết chính Ngài. Khi Kinh thánh nói rằng mắt không nhìn thấy, tai cũng không nghe thấy và lòng con người chưa nghĩ đến, những gì Đức Chúa Trời đã chuẩn bị cho những người biết Ngài, thì đây hoàn toàn là việc làm cho tâm trí thổi bùng.

Đeo Mặt Nạ Khác-

Tôi nghĩ một trong những điều trớ trêu sắp tới sẽ là khi mọi người trở lại “hội thánh”, họ sẽ đeo mặt nạ. Hãy suy nghĩ về điều đó trong một phút. Mức độ than phiền nào khiến mọi người trong nhà thờ đeo mặt nạ? Họ mỉm cười và nói với bạn rằng mọi thứ đều ổn khi không phải như vậy đâu. Họ hỏi bạn sẽ làm thế nào chạy được một dặm nếu câu trả lời của bạn là bất cứ điều gì khác ngoài việc “tôi khỏe mạnh, tốt đẹp”.

Đối với hầu hết các phần đó được gọi là”sự tương giao”. Không bao giờ thực sự làm quen với mọi người được vì họ đeo mặt nạ vào ngày Chủ nhật  đi đến nhà thờ. Sự tương giao của họ rất nông cạn. Bây giờ mọi người sẽ thực sự được đeo mặt nạ. Một lớp ẩn danh khác ra đời.

HÃY NHỚ Ê-SAU?

Hê-bơ-rơ 12:15-16, "Coi chừng đừng để ai thiếu hụt ân-điển của Đức Chúa TRỜI; rằng không có rễ đắng nào mọc lên gây khó-khăn, và bởi nó nhiều người bị làm ô-uế; rằng không có một người vô luân hay vô thần nào giống như Ê-sau, là kẻ đã bán quyền trưởng-nam của mình vì một bữa ăn"

Tác giả thơ Hê-bơ-rơ đã khêu lại trường hợp của Ê-sau để cảnh báo các Cơ Đốc nhân về một kiểu thờ ơ thuộc linh mà ông gọi là "phàm tục", coi thường những điều tín ngưỡng và thánh.

Hãy xem xét các lập luận của tác giả. E-sau đã lựa chọn gì. Sự lựa chọn của anh ta đặt ra trong một loạt các hậu quả. Sau đó, anh muốn thừa hưởng phước lành, nhưng anh không thể. Tình hình là không thể cứu vãn.

DÂNG HIẾN LINH TẾ LÊN THIÊN PHỤ-

Giăng 4:23-24,”Nhưng giờ sắp đến, mà nay đã đến rồi, khi kẻ thờ lạy thật lấy tâm linh và lẽ thật mà thờ lạy Cha, vì Cha vẫn tìm kiếm người dường ấy để thờ lạy Ngài. Đức Chúa Trời là Linh, nên ai thờ lạy Ngài thì cần phải lấy tâm linh và lẽ thật mà thờ lạy”

1 Phi ero 2:5, “anh em cũng như đá sống được xây nên nhà thuộc linh, làm chức tế lễ thánh, để dâng linh tế nhờ Jêsus Christ được Đức Chúa Trời vui nhận”

Heboro 13:15, “Vậy, chúng ta hãy nhờ Ngài mà hằng dâng tế lễ bằng lời ngợi khen cho Đức Chúa Trời, tức là bông trái của môi miệng thừa nhận danh Ngài”.

Roma 15:16 BNC, “nên tôi được làm kẻ sai dịch của Christ Jêsus giữa người Ngoại bang, để làm việc tế tư của Tin Lành Đức Chúa Trời, hầu cho sự phụng hiến người Ngoại bang lên nhờ sự nên thánh bởi Thánh Linh mà được Ngài vui nhận”. Bản hiệu đính dịch: “được làm đầy tớ của Đấng Christ Jêsus giữa các dân ngoại, thi hành chức tế lễ cho Tin Lành của Đức Chúa Trời, để dân ngoại trở thành lễ vật đẹp lòng Chúa, được thánh hóa bởi Đức Thánh Linh”.

HÌNH TƯỢNG HAY THẦN TƯỢNG?

Xuất 20:4: “Ngươi chớ làm tượng chạm cho mình, cũng chớ làm tượng nào giống những vật trên trời cao kia…”. Chữ “tượng” đây là פֶּסֶל đọc là pesel- có nghĩa là an idol: - carved (graven) image.- một tượng ảnh

Đa 3:1: “Vua Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa làm một pho tượng bằng vàng…” Chữ “pho tượng” ở đây là צְלֶם  đọc là tselem  = figure, form, image; tượng ảnh, hình ảnh để thờ.

Ô-sê 4:17 ” Ép-ra-im sa mê thần tượng, hãy để mặc nó!” Chữ “thần tượng đây là  עָצָב, đọc là ‛âtsâb= idol- thần tượng. Chữ ‛âtsâb” nầy dùng ở Thi 115:4;  135:15

&. Hình tượng là tượng ảnh, là một pho tượng, còn thần tượng là tượng ảnh có quỷ núp phía sau làm cho tượng ảnh đó trở  nên linh thiêng, có quyền lực của quỷ, có thể chi phối loài người. Hình tượng khác với thần tượng.

Cô lô se 3:5- “tham lam chẳng khác gì thờ hình tượng- covetousnesswhich is idolatry” chữ “thờ hình tượng” là - εἰδωλολατρεία: đọc là: eidōlolatreia, nghĩa đen là thờ lạy thần tượng. Chữ nầy dùng ở Galati 5: 19- 20- thờ thần tượng- “các việc làm của xác thịt là rõ ràng lắm: Ấy là gian dâm, ô uế, luông tuồng, thờ hình tượng…”.

Khải 9:20, “cứ thờ lạy ma quỉ cùng thần tượng bằng vàng, bạc, đồng, đá, và gỗ  -yet repented not of  the works  of their hands, thatthey should not worship devils, and idols of gold,” -  Chữ “thần tượng” là εἴδωλον:  đọc là eidōlon= nghĩa đen là thờ thần tượng-

Khải 13: 14; “khiến hết thảy những kẻ nào không thờ lạy tượng con thú đó bị giết đi. that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed”= Chữ “tượng” là  εἰκών- đọc là eikōn= a likeness, that is, (literally) statue- tượng ảnh con thú.

LỄ THỔI KÈN, LỄ CHUỘC TỘI, LỄ LỀU TẠM-

Trong sách Lê vi kí Chúa ban cho dân Israel trong cựu ước 7 kì lễ tiệc: Vượt qua, Bánh không men, Trái đầu mùa, Ngũ tuần, Thổi kèn, Chuộc tội và Lều tạm.

Lễ Vượt qua có thể áp dụng cho đầu thời Tân ước khi Chúa Jesus chịu chết để mua chuộc cả nhân loại. Những người tin Ngài thì như dân Israel ra khỏi AI cập (thế giới),  rồi họ theo Ngài suốt chặng đường dài, mãi cho đến lễ lều tạm, tượng trưng nước ngàn năm của Chúa hiện ra trên trái đất nầy.

Tôi xin sơ lược vài ý nghĩa của ba kì lễ sau cùng mà thôi:

1.    Lễ thổi kèn:

Lê vi kí 23-25 TKTC: “Đức GIA-VÊ lại phán cùng Môi-se, rằng: "Nói với các con trai Y-sơ-ra-ên, rằng: 'Trong tháng thứ bảy, vào ngày thứ nhất trong tháng, các ngươi sẽ nghỉ ngày Ngưng-nghỉ, được nhắc-nhở bởi việc thổi kèn trom-bét, một sự triệu-tập thánh. Các ngươi sẽ không được làm một việc khó nhọc nào, nhưng các ngươi sẽ dâng một của-lễ bởi lửa cho GIA-VÊ".

Dân số kí 10:1-10 chép lời Chúa quy định về cách thổi kèn trong suốt lịch sử dân Chúa thời Môi se (chừng 1500 TCN) cho mãi đến hôm nay, năm 2018…..

TÒA ÁN CỦA ĐẤNG CHRIST

Sau khi những người còn sót lại của dân Đức Chúa Trời được cất lên không trung trong sự biến hóa cuối cùng gần cuối Ngày lớn sự thịnh nộ của Đức Chúa Trời, họ sẽ xuất hiện trước tòa án của Đấng Christ. Cùng những người đã được cất lên ngôi của Đức Chúa Trời, người Con Trai (những kẻ đắc thắng), hoa quả đầu tiên và các vị tử đạo, cũng sẽ xuống để cùng dân của Đức Chúa Trời trong không trung đứng trước tòa án của Đấng Christ.

--Toà án của Đấng Christ

Phao-lô viết: " Vì tất cả chúng ta đều sẽ ứng hầu trước tòa án của Đức Chúa Trời.  Vì có lời chép: “Chúa phán: Thật như Ta hằng sống, mọi đầu gối sẽ quỳ trước mặt Ta, Và mọi lưỡi sẽ ca ngợi Đức Chúa Trời.”Như vậy, mỗi chúng ta sẽ tường trình về chính mình với Đức Chúa Trời." (Rô-ma 14:10, 12). Và một lần nữa: "Vì tất cả chúng ta đều phải trình diện trước tòa án Đấng Christ để mỗi người nhận lãnh tùy theo điều thiện hoặc ác mình đã làm lúc còn trong thân xác" (2 Cor 5:10).

Nhà Hùng Biện Hay Nhà Tiên Tri?

Người cung cấp Lời Chúa Cơ Đốc, như ai đó đã chỉ ra, là một hậu duệ không phải của nhà hùng biện Hi Lạp, mà là con cháu của nhà tiên tri  Hê-bơ-rơ. Sự khác biệt giữa nhà hùng biện và nhà tiên tri thì rất nhiều và triệt để, khác biệt chính là nhà hùng biện nói cho chính mình trong khi nhà tiên tri nói cho Đức Chúa Trời. Nhà hùng biện phát sinh thông điệp của mình và tự chịu trách nhiệm về nội dung của nó. Tiên tri không phát sinh điều gì ngoài việc truyền đi thông điệp mà ông đã nhận được từ Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng chịu trách nhiệm về sứ điệp đó, nhà tiên tri chỉ chịu trách nhiệm với Đức Chúa Trời về việc chuyển giao mà thôi. Tiên tri phải nghe thông điệp rõ ràng và trung thành truyền rao, và đó thực sự là một trách nhiệm nghiêm trọng, nhưng đó là trách nhiệm đối với một mình Đức Chúa Trời, không phải với con người. The Meal Offering

The meal offering depicts the fine humanity of Jesus. His work began with the mystery of incarnation: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). God created man in His image and likeness to have dominion on this earth and subdue His enemy, Satan (Gen. 1:26); but the serpent, Satan, deceived man and injected his poisonous, serpentine nature into him (Rom. 5:12), thereby corrupting humanity. Hence, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23), and “As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one’” (Rom. 3:10-12). Then two thousand years ago, God in His wisdom became a man Himself in Christ Jesus to accomplish His purpose. This Man Jesus is “holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners” (Heb. 7:26), perfect and righteous. He is the only One qualified to carry out God’s divine purpose. He overcame Satan, the world, religion, sin and death. He went through all kinds of sufferings, and accomplished redemption on the cross. He swallowed up the power of death and rose again. He ascended to the throne and sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. What a wonderful Man! He is the meal offering as food to us. He is the bread that came down from heaven that we may eat of Him and live by Him (John 6). Let us look into some details of this wonderful meal offering.

Christ as Spiritual Sacrifices Acceptable to God

Introduction

People have many ideas about how to worship God, whether it be going to church services on Sunday, using music to worship Him, praying to Him, or even prostrating before Him. Have you ever asked God and searched in the Scripture to see how He wants to be worshiped?

Jesus said, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:23-24).

“But the hour is coming, and now is,” indicates the advent of the new covenant age through Jesus Christ. In the old covenant days, two things were required by God for His people to worship Him: 1) the place of God’s choice – the temple in Jerusalem, and 2) to come with offerings as mentioned in Leviticus 1-7.

The Church

What does the Bible Say?

In Matthew 16:18, Jesus Christ declares,

“I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

Jesus Christ, the One building His church, is uniquely qualified to define what the church is and how the church should be built up. And, no matter how hard God’s enemy, Satan, tries to frustrate the building up of the church, he will not prevent the Lord from accomplishing His purpose.

What is the church?

Some would say the church is a building, a religious organization, or even a social club. But what does the word of God say about the church? The book of Ephesians reveals that the church is the living body of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23), the kingdom of God (Eph. 2:19), the household (family) of God (Eph. 2:19), the spiritual house of the living God (Eph. 2:20-22), the one new man (Eph. 4:24), the bride of Christ (Eph. 5:25-27) and the warrior (army) of Christ (Eph. 6:11-18). The church is ultimately the expression of God’s fullness (Eph. 1:23).

We are the church

The Bible also tells us how we become members of the church. We must first become genuine believers of Christ. John 1:12-13 says,

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

When we believe and receive Jesus Christ as our Savior, we not only receive the forgiveness of sins, but also His eternal life. Through our baptism, by the one Spirit, we also are baptized into His one body (1 Cor. 12:13). Becoming a member of the body of Christ is not a matter of passing a test, joining a denomination, or following a religion; it is a matter of life and the Spirit. His divine life constitutes us to become His children, to be in God’s family, and His Spirit joins us into one body. Thus we are the church, God’s expression here on earth.

Oneness of the Christians

God also desires that we, as His believers, be one. Ephesians 4:1-3 says,

“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

All the true believers are members of the one body of Christ. God wants this testimony of oneness expressed on this earth for all to see (John 17:21). Hebrews 10:25 shows that God desires us to express this oneness by meeting together: “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.” But, practically speaking, how can all the Christians in the world meet together as the church?

The practical oneness of the church

In Acts, the epistles and the book of Revelation, we see a pattern of how God wants all the believers in Christ, called Christians (Acts 11:26), to meet. The church in Jerusalem (Acts 8:1; 11:22), the church in Antioch (Acts 13:1), the church in Corinth (1 Cor. 1:2), the church in Ephesus (Rev. 2:1), the church in Philadelphia (Rev. 3:7) are all examples of the following principle: All Christians living in the same city should meet together as the church in that city, as the one testimony of Christ in that city. According to the Bible, there should only be one expression of His church in one city. God’s way is so simple. Isn’t it wonderful?

Man’s way to meet

Knowing God’s desire to build up the church in oneness, Satan has been hard at work trying to destroy this oneness. He does this by using man’s own thoughts and concepts to confuse God’s people. Over the past 2,000 years, the various ideas of man have caused Christians to become divided and go astray from God’s unique way. But, God clearly warns us not to divide ourselves based on spiritual leaders (1 Cor. 1:12-17; 3:3-7), culture, religion, or social class (1 Cor. 12:12-13; Col. 3:11). In fact, God categorizes dissension in the same class of sin as idolatry, hatred, jealousy, and heresy (Gal. 5:19-20). God desires oneness and hates division. Would you want to go against God’s word and be a part of division?

Sadly, today, there is so much division among Christians. Many Christians “choose” a “church group” based on their own preferences. This is contrary to God’s will and does not satisfy Him. In the Old Testament God already says, “You shall not at all do as we were doing here today – every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes,” (Deut. 12:8). In the New Testament, Jesus Christ also says “[a] house divided against itself will not stand,” (Matt. 12:25). Man’s opinion, no matter how seemingly logical, convenient or brilliant, is the source of division among Christians today. Don’t be fooled by Satan! Come out of all division and return to the oneness that God desires for His church.

How do we unite?

In all four gospels in the New Testament, Jesus Christ says,

“Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

Do you love Jesus Christ so much that you would be willing to put aside your own preferences, traditions, and good ideas? Are you willing to ultimately deny your soul life and follow Him? The word of God reveals clearly that all Christians are part of the one church of God and that all the believers in one city should meet as the church in that city. This is how God desires us to express the oneness in a practical way. It is our desire to follow the Lord Jesus Christ in how He wants His church to be built. 

How do I “join” the church?

Would you like to become a member of God’s family, do His will and be in His church? God has made it simple for you. First, be saved. Mark 16:16 says, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved.” Then, once you are saved, start to meet with the church in your city. That’s how simple it is to follow God’s will concerning His church.

If you are a born again Christian and have been baptized into Christ, and you live in Fountain Valley, spiritually you are a member of the Church in Fountain Valley. We welcome you to also practically meet with us on this unique biblical ground of oneness. If you live in another city, we invite you to come and experience the church life with us.

If you are not yet a Christian, do not wait or postpone your decision to receive Christ and be added to His church. Choose Him now. Open up your heart to Him and pray: “Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins and receive you as my Savior and life. I want to become part of Your family, and be brought back to Your home in the church.”

God’s Advice to Mankind

“Hear this, all peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world, both low and high, rich and poor together…Those who trust in their wealth and boast in the multitude of their riches, none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him—for the redemption of their souls is costly, and it shall cease forever—that he should continue to live eternally, and not see the Pit.” (Ps. 49:1-2, 6-9)

People today preoccupy themselves with material things such as money, cars, and houses, or may pursue a successful career, seek recognition, or simply live to have fun. However, the word of God in Psalm 49 gives all the inhabitants of the earth important and wise advice. It says:

“Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names” (v. 11).

Yet all these are fleeting and will one day vanish. Can any amount of accomplishments or wealth save a man from certain death and make him live eternally? No,

“…wise men die; likewise the fool and the senseless person perish, and leave their wealth to others” (v. 10).

God’s word shows very clearly that we cannot bring anything with us when we die:

“For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out” (1. Tim 6:7).

Psalm 49 continues:

“Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not remain; he is like the beasts that perish. This is the way of those who are foolish, and of their posterity who approve their sayings. Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them… and their beauty shall be consumed in the grave, far from their dwelling.” (Ps. 49:12-14).

All we have accomplished in this world will mean nothing when we die because we will be just “like the beasts that perish.”

Serious Consequences
Regardless of a person’s wealth or status, no one can escape death. The moment we are born, we are already destined to die! According to God’s righteousness, we must die because we all have sin: “The wages of sin is death…” (Rom. 6:23).

What happens after death? The Bible says clearly, “…it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment…” (Heb. 9:27). When the Lord Jesus Christ returns, God will execute His righteous judgment. In that day “…anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Rev. 20:15). Is this how you would like to spend eternity? No reasonable person would want this! God does not want this for you either. He has provided a way out! The psalmist then says,

“God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He shall receive me” (Ps. 49:15).

How can God redeem our soul from the power of the grave?

God’s Salvation Prepared for Us through Jesus Christ
There is only One who can save us from death, from the power of the grave: Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. He “made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant and coming in the likeness of man” (Phil. 2:7). He had “no beauty that we should desire Him” (Is. 53:2). In fact, He was “despised and rejected by men” (Is. 53:3). Out of His great love towards us and to fulfill all of God’s righteous requirements, Jesus Christ was crucified, shedding His precious innocent blood for our sins on our behalf. God “made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor. 5:21). By His death on the cross He destroyed “him who had the power of death, that is, the devil” (Heb. 2:14). Because He was without sin, God “raised Him up [from the dead], having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it” (Acts 2:24). Jesus Christ conquered death and took away its power. Then He resurrected after three days! What a victory (1 Cor. 15:54)! Only Jesus Christ is able to save us from sin and death.

How Can I Be Saved?
God made it very simple for us to be saved even though what He accomplished was very profound: “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:16). Romans 10:9 says, “…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” When you believe in Him and confess His name, the Holy Spirit enters into your spirit and gives you God’s eternal life (John 3:16). You are born again! Then when you are baptized, you enter into Jesus Christ and are joined to Him in His death and resurrection (Rom. 6:4-11). By faith in Him and baptism into Him, you enter into another realm – the kingdom of God (John 3:5) – so that you can begin to live by Him and grow in Him. Then when Jesus Christ comes again, your name will be found in the Book of Life!

Hebrews 3:7 tells us: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your heart.” Do not delay! By faith, accept God’s salvation for us through Jesus Christ. Psalm 49 ends with the charge:

“Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, when the glory of his house is increased; for when he dies he shall carry nothing away; his glory shall not descend after him. Though while he lives he blesses himself (for men will praise you when you do well for yourself), he shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, is like the beasts that perish” (v. 16-20).

What a sad and foolish end for a man, who lives yet neither understands nor receives this wonderful salvation. Do not miss out! Be wise! Believe in the risen Christ today and be baptized without delay. Then you will experience the redemption of your soul and God’s eternal life.
